These terms cover your use of the Local Auto rider app and Auto Captain app. Local Auto operates shared auto-rickshaw bookings on fixed routes between real stops, currently in Vijayawada only.

Using the rider app

You must be 18 or older to create an account. You're responsible for keeping your account secure — sign-in is via a one-time code sent to your phone number, so keep that number under your control. Fares shown at booking are fixed and won't change due to demand, traffic, or time of day.

Wallet and payments

Wallet top-ups are processed by Razorpay, our payment partner. Fares are only deducted from your wallet once you actually board — scanning your Auto Captain's QR code — never at the time of booking. Cancelling a pending ticket before boarding means you're never charged for it.

Becoming an Auto Captain

There's no self-serve signup to drive — every Auto Captain is verified in person by our team, including identity documents, driving license, and vehicle details. Being registered as an Auto Captain doesn't guarantee a fixed volume of rides; earnings depend on routes driven and hours worked.

Acceptable use

• Don't attempt to board without a valid, scanned ticket.
• Don't share your account or OTP with anyone else.
• Report safety issues (including driving behavior) through the app's report feature rather than resolving disputes directly.

Account suspension

We may suspend an account that violates these terms, engages in fraud (including ticket-sharing or fare manipulation), or poses a safety risk to riders or Auto Captains.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Limitation of liability

Local Auto connects riders with independently operating Auto Captains driving their own or a rented auto-rickshaw. We verify captains and routes, but the ride itself is provided by the Auto Captain, not Local Auto directly.
